More with the new Tonic Studio dies...

I've made quite a few things with the latest Tonic Studios dies and their new Frames so far. I found a mirror coaster that was exactly the right size so I made this mirror frame. The frames are card and you fold them and glue them yourself, and then decorate in the manner of your choosing. I made a woodgrain effect here with acrylic paints. The rose corner dies were cut from tomato paste tube.
I have used the lovely butterfly latering dies to decorate little jewellery boxes, and then made some earrings from shrink plastic to go in them all.
Each pair of earrings coordinates with the butterflies on the lid of the boxes.
Wouldn't the white ones be pretty for a wedding !
I really enjoyed making these...you know how much I love making boxes!!!

There has also been other glass etching. I made this candle vase.
Here it is filled with sweeties...I didn't eat all these myself ! I promise !
There are still a few more things to show you, but I'll save that for another post. Hope you feel inspired to go make something now.
Have a lovely day

Glass Etching with Tonic Studios Dies

Something a little different for you this morning....glass etching. It's not as complicated as you might think. I purchased some self adhesive matt finish vinyl from Ebay and cut out with one of Tonic Studios new butterfly layering dies.  Then I cut a square with their scalloped square layering dies. I used these as my stencils and adhered the vinyl to the glass which I made sure was grease free first.

You then need some latex gloves and eye protection - just in case, and you apply the Armour Etch which is widely available. It says to just leave for a few minutes, but I gave mine a bit longer just to be sure. You can then scrape off the excess and put it back in the jar before you wash off the bottle under a running tap. You then peel off the vinyl and ...tada...you're done. Easy peasy. Your design is permanently on your bottle.

Go on....give it a try..you know you want to!

Happy New Year

It's been a while since I blogged - I hadn't realised. Life has been rather busy lately with one thing and another and so I apologise for my bloggy silence.

Do you like these butterflies on the top I have just decorated? It's a sample for Tonic Studios featuring one of their gorgeous new releases. The butterfly layering dies. I have cut the dies from flock vinyl which you iron on to the T shirt.  I added some hand stitching and sequins too just for a bit of bling.

Here it is being modelled by my older daughter. (I wish I was that slim)
There are some gorgeous new products coming out very soon, so expect to see a few more sample pictures coming soon. You will see all the design teams gorgeous samples if you keep an eye on Blog Tonic. You can also keep up to date with all Tonic Studio's latest news, products and also great competitions over at their facebook page.

See you again soon!
