It seems my neighbours cat is either very smart, very strange, or both! He either thinks he's a bird, or he is lying in wait in case one appears. Either way, it gave us a good laugh when we looked out the window and saw this. He's been back a few times now to the same spot so he obviously likes it. His name is Cheddar Cheese. Gives a whole new meaning to "putting out a bit of cheese for the birds" doesn't it!

Floral Headband
I've been playing around with the Bouquet Boutique floral dies from Tonic Studios. This time, I have used some slub silk, or raw silk as it is otherwise known. I stiffened the silk before cutting by applying a coat of matt Mod Podge and letting it dry. It seemed to work fine. I believe they do make a fabric stiffener. I may need to investigate that! The centre of the flower is made from tiny seed beads.
I glued the lot together with my trusty old glue gun. I've had it for about 25 years and it's still going!

A few random things...
Here's a brooch I have just made by sticking layers of thin card together topped by an excerpt from an old Gaelic Songbook. I believe this song is the Gaelic version of an old song called "Will ye no come back again." It was already pretty well aged already, but I did help it along a bit! It'll be going in my Etsy shop later.
On the good news front, we now have our planning permission for the plot of land we are purchasing, although we shan't be able to progress with that until we sell our current home.
I can now show you the Mother's Day card I made for my mum this year.
...and that's about it for now.

embroidered bird
I was helping my parents clear out their linen cupboard the other day and came across this embroidered chair back cover I had made for them when I was a teenager. I thought I'd share it with you. I think I would do it a bit differently now, but it is still nice and bright and colourful and they do say it's the thought that counts!

shrink plastic and dies
I've been trying out using my Cuttlebug machine and some Dies to cut shrink plastic. It works really well. I've made some earrings using these Tonic-Studios dies.
Hmm, I wonder what I should make next?

T shirt makeover

With the help of some wonderful new dies from Tonic Studios, I cut out some flowers from scraps of fabric and turned what was once a dull boring long sleeve t-shirt, into a pretty flowery one.
For a few more details of how I made this, please check out this post at Blog Tonic. Thanks.![]() |

Things I've been making...
I've also been working on some little notebooks, but am now waiting on some teeny tiny magnets for the closure as I think the velcro is too bulky.
I've also been doing a spot of cardmaking...you can find out more about how this card was made over at Blog Tonic.
Today...more crafting...as well as trying to get this place ship shape- a never-ending task!
