Birthday fun idea - Using self adhesive vinyl to decorate cups

Hello. Hope you are having a good day. Although we celebrated at the weekend, today is the day my little pumpkin turns 9. I just managed to finish her mermaid doll in time...(photos in my next post hopefully. ) These cups were decorated by the birthday girl and her bestie with a little help from me. Tonic Studios dies can be used for so many projects, here they were used for self adhesive vinyl. If you carefully hand wash the cups, it holds up pretty well. I added a butterfly to her school water bottle ages ago and it is still holding up just fine.

A lovely day was had by the birthday girl...it was even warm enough for a water fight....but only just!!! Brrr!

Have a lovely day and don't forget to check out the rest of my blog.

Bye for now

The building project

Just dropping by again to let you see the start of our new home. Doesn't look like much yet, but pretty exciting for us to see it getting this far.
In other fascinating news, I made my own oatcakes for the first time the other day. They weren't bad...needs a bit of perfecting, but can't wait to try changing up the recipe a bit and making adding some flavours.

Have a lovely weekend. Birthday cake and a wedding this weekend! Oooh, that means even more cake!

Fairy pretty

My goodness it has been a busy week. I've been busy making a mermaid rag doll for my little daughter's birthday. She is still bald - the doll that is, so I better get a move on. However, I took a break from my sewing to try out the very pretty new Rococo fairy dies from Tonic Studios. If you love fairies, you'll love these, although I do believe they have been so popular they have sold out. They'll be back before too long, so if you missed out this time, keep an eye open for when they are back in stock.

A Special Wedding card

Today's card is a Wedding card. The only card I have used is white card the colour is from Distress ink. It's a look that I am fond of. Very delicate.

I am looking forward to attending the wedding of a lovely couple who are just perfect for each other. Both their first names shorten to Chris which is really sweet, so I just had to put their names on their card. I'm pretty sure they don't read my blog, so I think I am safe to post this now.

A box of memories

This box is the perfect size for storing vintage photographs and mementos or perhaps baby's first shoes, or little treasures from your childhood. I finally got around to completing this project I started before my craft room clearup. I hadn't made a box for a wee while, and you know how I love boxes. This is a larger one than I usually make...so it will hold a good amount. It started life as one of those papier mache box blanks you can buy. This one is an 8inch diameter box. The base of the box was painted with an ivory paint and then I stenciled through some punchinella with silver paint for this effect which I think almost has the look of shagreen or snakeskin.

Big Hugs card

Just taking a wee break from my craft room sorting to make a quick card. These butterfly dies are so pretty. Who wouldn't smile if a card with these butterflies and blossoms popped through their letter box ? I enjoy making someones day with a bit of snail mail. (Which reminds me...must head off to the Post Office)

The diggers are still digging away at out plot of land. They have needed to go much deeper than anticipated. Extra money! But, if we don't do it, we don't build a house. I'm glad my husband was able to see the positive side of the deeper topsoil. He said it will make it easier for him when it comes to planting our new garden. So that is good. :-) Can't wait !

Have a lovely day !

And so...the new build begins

This picture might not look like much to you....but to me it is completely thrilling. Finally...after a very long wait...our new house is beginning. This was yesterday, the day the digging started. A very significant day to remember. We are very thankful to see some action at last. Yippee !

Other than that, I am in one of those messes that has to get worse before it gets better. Yes, I am cleaning and reorganising the craft room ! Big job!

Have a lovely day
