A snowy day

As always...I've been busy crafting...some of which I can't show you just yet. I love these dies from Tonic that have an almost letterpress look about them.
It's a snowy day here, but not enough for the schools to be off...shame...I know a little girl who'd much rather be out building a snowman. This was her selfie last time we had snow...it's a bit dark as it was late afternoon.

She was devastated when Mr Frosty melted! Poor wee thing.
Well...I must get on with my crafting...much to do.

Catch you later

Stencilled Teapot Tutorial for Wayfair.co.uk

I created a fun little tutorial on how to stencil a teapot over at Wayfair.co.uk . If you haven't checked out their online shop before, you should. It has such a vast selection of gorgeous items for your home, I think you could spend all day browsing and not see it all!

Have a lovely day

A little pencil pot

I love upcycling as anyone who follows this blog will know. This pencil pot was made from two empty parcel tape reels stacked and glue together. It is surprisingly sturdy.
Decorated of course with Tonic Studios papers and dies.
The pencils are wrapped with Tonic's paper too. Wrapping pencils with thicker paper is a bit fiddly, but it makes a nice gift item to coordinate your pencils with the pot, so it is worth the effort.

Stay warm...it's rather chilly out there!

A pretty little box and gift

You know how much I love to make little boxes ! This one is decorated with some of the latest Tonic products. More details at Blog Tonic.
And I couldn't very well make a sweet little gift box without putting a gift in it could I. These beautiful cameos from Tonic are so detailed and exquisite, they are good enough to be worn as jewellery.

Just look how detailed these are - even close up they are beautiful ! This is my absolute favourite one!
I may change out the pearl for a creamy coloured pearl drop the next time I am shopping for bead supplies. But otherwise, I shall be wearing this.

We have snow today...I wonder if it will keep on snowing...my husband and daughter would love a snow day off school!

Stay warm

Seed drawers

Here is another of the Tonic Studios Lyon drawer units that I decorated. This time I added little wooden drawer pulls to become feet. I also used real wood veneer which I stained with a rosewood wood stain to the drawer fronts and also as the backplate for the seeds nameplate.

I love the fact there are many surfaces to decorate. Here is the back of the unit.

And, I couldn't resist lining the drawers with botanical paper. I love fine detail !

It'll be a wee while before we start the seed planting here, but it does make me long for the Spring looking at this !

Stay warm and cosy wherever you are

Circus style

This is the latest mini furniture from Tonic Studios. What yiu get is a blank unit which you can build and decorate any way you like. Just for fun, I went with a circus theme on this one. I think it turned out very cheery looking! The launch of these units is on Create and Craft TV tomorrow at 10pm. The show is coming live from the CHA show in the USA.
You know me ! I can't help but take advantage of every surface on offer.
Including the back of the unit !

It's been wild and windy here in the Highlands, and many people here have had power cuts. We are thankful for a nice warm cosy log fire!

I hope you are safe and warm wherever you are/

Have a lovely day

Happy New Year

Hello ! Wow, it's already January the 8th...where does the time go?
It's been a busy time here...working on projects, looking after the family...there is always something to do. It's been an interesting holiday too...the PC died, the bread machine broke, and the vacuum cleaner broke. Then there was a tummy bug...but then...
We bought a new toy to replace the bread machine...
...and it has a pasta attachment, so the other night...(after a bit of a fight until I had figured it out,) we had fresh pasta...

It was yum! I do like a lot of Black pepper on mine! ;-)

Nothing much is happening with out new house build at the moment, but we hope to hear something in the next couple of weeks. Because we changed our heating from Oil to Air source heat pump, it has to go back to the planning dept for approval. However we are very excited to not be tied down to ordering oil ever again! Our current rental home seems to eat oil at a rather alarming rate.

Here is a video about the type of heating we are going to have,

Sounds good doesn't it? I'll let you know when we get there if it turns out as good as it looks.

Well, I must get on. I have a couple of projects I need to finish and photograph.

have a lovely day.
