Beach day

We had a lovely afternoon at the beach in Rosemarkie
this Saturday. Here are some soothing images
to relax you. Wish you could have enjoyed the
gently lapping waves with us.
Ahhhhhhhh.

ancient art

I came across these amazing ancient, life size carvings
of giraffes the other day when our National Geographic
Magazine came through the door. ( http://www.ngm.com/ )
I felt kind of humbled.
I often make excuses for not painting.
I say I don't have the right paint,
or paper, or materials.
But what about the artists who
created these incredible images?
They used what was available and
created art that has lasted
for thousands of years.
Awesome.

Rain again

It only needs to rain here for a couple of days,
and you forget what it was like to be out in the sunshine.
The photo shows my little one beside our summer house,
(for "summer house" read "room in which to store junk"),
which is in the middle of a repainting job.
I shall finish it if the nice weather ever returns.
It's the only painting I've done lately!

Chargrilled lentils anyone?

Well, I was kind of distracted today,
and I thought I'd cook some lentils,
but I forgot about them,
and this is the result.
I won't be upcycling these into something
else and selling them on Etsy.
Not unless someone can think of something
useful to make them into!
Just one of those days I guess!
I think I need a new pan!

The aliens have landed!

Rod took a picture of this fascinating cloud the other night.
It was amazingly saucer like. No little green men though!
I thought I'd stick it up here for you to see as I haven't
made anything visual in the last week or so.
I've been busy recording some of my kids songs.
My good friend Leo has some recording equipment
for a limited time only, and I'm making the most of
the opportunity.
