Birthday Post

THE QUICK BROWN FOX JUMPED OVER THE LAZY DOG

That's what I don't want to be this year - LAZY!

I thought today would be an appropriate day to

set out my crafting goals for this year.

42 today - yikes, how did that happen?

Well, this year I want to add to my Etsy shop.

I am saving up for an archival ink printer,

and then I intend to do some artwork and offer prints.

I have been wanting to get back to the illustrating

for a while, but just haven't quite got there yet,

so I hope this year I'll manage.

I also have some multimedia projects in mind.

Plus I still have to finish decorating my studio.

It's too cold to be out there just now!

Left, Left, Left....

What on earth possessed me to make all

these birds facing to the left?

I don't think I gave their direction any thought.

They were not all made at the same time.

I guess this is just my preferred direction.

The last three birds I made millefiori canes for

their stylised feathers. They are supposed to be

fairytale birds. The little yellow one is soon

going to have cute little dangly beady legs.

Now my pinbacks have just arrived in

the post, I better get busy with some glue!

(My personal fave is the blackbird.)

Fishy

I have several little birdy brooches under construction

at the moment, but nothing to show you yet,

so I thought I'd stick up a picture of an oldy.

I made this fishy brooch to sell, but then ended up

wearing it myself. Anyone else do that -

Make things to sell and end up keeping them,

or giving them away? No wonder I don't earn much!

Wow!

I received the most awesome gift last night!

It's a Kala jazz ukulele.

I've been strumming a cheap toy ( by comparison)

for several years now, and so I am absolutely thrilled

and extremely grateful. It will certainly help with the

songwriting, and I feel rejuvinated and inspired already!

I hope you have had a happy and healthy holiday.

It's been kind of busy here lately,

so I haven't been blogging so much,

but I have been dreaming up some tutorials

for you, so look out for them this year.

Every morning Gabriella sits at her

window to do a spot of birdwatching.

She already knows many of the names

of the different birds. Smart girl!
