Happy Thanksgiving

Hi, hope you are having a lovely day today.
I'm just dropping by to show you some of the cards I have made recently with Tonic Studios latest dies. These dies are gorgeous! So intricate.

I had a lot of fun making these cards with them.

I'm loving the whole papercut vibe. A little bit Rob Ryan - whose stuff I LOVE!

And now I am trying out some more new dies and creating some new projects with them. But I can't show you just yet...Top Secret!

Happy Thanksgiving to all my American friends.

The north wind doth blow, and we shall have snow...

...so stay inside and do some crafting, that's what I say !

Just made a birthday card, and a few other cards, but I can't show you them yet. More goodies from Tonic Studios coming out soon.
Once I have tackled the humongous  pile of ironing, I may do some sewing. Lots of ideas, and not enough hours in the day - especially not enough daylight hours!

Stay warm, and keep safe...and if you are in the Tropics...stay cool I guess!

Watch the Birdy - cushion

And the latest item to be produced with the new sewing machine is this birdy - camera cushion. I've just finished this linen cushion cover for my elder daughter. I used the Citrasolv transfer technique. The lovely vintage images are collaged from the Graphics Fairy.

Next, I think I'm making a hot water bottle cover! Just need to figure out what I am going to make it out of now.

Hope you are having a productive day.

Zippered pouch number 2

Here's my next attempt at a purse. I finally decided to do something useful with the sample swatch I got ages ago from Spoonflower that was printed with my shell illustration.
I am more pleased with this one. There was not enough from the swatch to do both sides so I used a piece of denim from an old pair of jeans for the reverse.
It's feeling very cold here in the Highlands just now, but the morning light is so beautiful just now |I can't get enough of it.
These are all taken from my lounge window. This is looking towards our garden studio.
It all looks so beautiful, but we have a whole lot of leaves to sweep up some time soon!

Stay warm wherever you are.

A little sewing

My darling man bought me a new sewing machine some months ago, but I have hardly touched it. I decided to put that right. Yesterday I made myself a little coin purse. I have to admit this was attempt number two. Number one is going in the trash!
I am still not happy with this one either - I'm a bit of a fusspot- so I am about to go make another one!
I intend to perfect making lined zippered pouches...I may die trying !

I also wanted to show you (show off) some CD packaging that I made for my daughter to present the wedding photos she took recently for friends.

If you have been a follower of my blog for a while, or you know me, then you'll know that I just love, love, love to make boxes and packaging. This was the ideal project for me!

I love labels, and logos, and tags, and folding card, and making box templates.....

and eyelets, and ribbons, and die cuts...

...and playing with photoshop, and little details...

...anyone would think I enjoyed this project wouldn't they!

You betcha!

Autumn Light

I love the morning light this time of year. The sky is ominous and purple grey and the sun kisses the tops of the golden and copper trees. This morning there was also a rainbow. Beautiful!  I snapped this shot with my mobile phone through my little girl's bedroom window while I was helping her get ready for school this morning.

Not had too much time for crafting this week, but a few cards have been made...

As always...made with the aid of Tonic Studios gorgeous craft tools. For more details on cards and for more papercrafting inspiration do check out Blog Tonic
Hope you are staying warm wherever you are.

From tangled to organised

My embroidery threads have been kept in the same box for some 20+ years and it was getting to the stage that when I needed a certain colour there was too much time spent trying to de-tangle it from it's neighbours. I decided it was time to take charge of the situation, so I bought myself a couple of plastic boxes that came with card bobbins. It only took me ...like about a month!!! (of part-time detangling) and now...drum roll please.....

No excuses to not finish all those unfinished projects now!

Cake O'Clock

We went for a lovely walk by the seashore on Saturday. The weather was unbelievably mild for October - it's back to it's usual cold and wet now though. The sea is so therapeutic! I always wish I could stay there all day.

I can show you this card now that my lovely niece has received it. If you would like the details on what products I used, please pop over to my post on Blog Tonic.

Hope you are keeping warm and well, and having a fabulous day !
Bye for now !

Folksy Shop Update

I've just been listing some jewellery in my Folksy shop. I decided that it would be better to have them listed than have them sitting doing nothing in their box.

If you're looking for some little gifts, then please pop by my shop and see what's there. Hopefully a few more items will be going in over the next few days.

Time to do some housework now ! Fun, fun, fun!

Tick, Tock ! A paper Clock !

Something a little different from me this time - all made with Tonic Studio's gorgeous dies.

The wonderful thing about Tonics dies is you get a perfect cut every time. I only used one type of card for this whole project. White hammered finish card.

If you would like a few more details on how I made this clock, please pop over to my post on Blog Tonic.

I've been wanting to make a paper clock for ages, and now that I have, my head is ticking full of lots of other clock ideas!  But you know what they say... time flies when you're having fun.

Butterflies and Blooms

Life has been fairly hectic this week, but I have managed to squeeze in a little time to play with Tonic Studios latest release. The gorgeous Butterflies and blooms dies.
I love the way you can layer these dies for a 3d effect.
My little daughter is home sick from school today, so I have just stuck a movie on the tv and now I am off to make something else. I have until the movie finishes. I better get busy !

More cardmaking

I've been busy making quite a few cards lately. This one is in Oriental style. That backing paper for some reason put me in mind of this famous Japanese image - The Great Wave off Kanagawa. That's what inspired the card.

Handmade tassel if course !

I also have made a card inspired by autumn, using a famous quote from George Elliot.

There is another fancy card I have made recently too, but I can't show you that one as the recipient hasn't got it yet.

I'm not cardmaking this morning though...I'm off to make a big pot of vegetable soup to share with some friends.

Have a lovely day !

Even more delights from Tonic Studios

Tonic have brought out some more beautiful dies and punches. They are gorgeous. Here's a little peek at the new loopy lace oval die. I had great fun creating the centre piece for this oval. I coloured and aged and crackled and distressed, and the end effect is like a little scrap of vintage wallpaper.

Keep up to date with all things Tonic Studios at their facebook page and also on Blogtonic.

Playing with more Tonic goodies

I upcycled one of my favourite low cost craft products - tomato paste tubes - into these beautiful flowers  using Tonic Studio's punch and stamp punches. The lovely swirls are made some of their new dies. I used my glue gun to attach them, but in retrospect, I think that some jewellery glue might have been a better idea. It was a bit of a fiddly and rather hot business!

The frame was from Poundland...guess how much it was? Yes, I have been to Poundland before with someone who shall remain nameless who asked the store assistant how much something was!! :-)

Tonic Studios new goodies

If you're in the UK, tune into Create and Craft TV on Monday at 8am to see Tonic Studios beautiful new verso dies. This little hanging ornament was made with one of their new wreath dies. The centre was punched with a little birdy punch. For more on their new dies...check out Blog Tonic.
