More cardmaking

I've been busy making quite a few cards lately. This one is in Oriental style. That backing paper for some reason put me in mind of this famous Japanese image - The Great Wave off Kanagawa. That's what inspired the card.

Handmade tassel if course !

I also have made a card inspired by autumn, using a famous quote from George Elliot.

There is another fancy card I have made recently too, but I can't show you that one as the recipient hasn't got it yet.

I'm not cardmaking this morning though...I'm off to make a big pot of vegetable soup to share with some friends.

Have a lovely day !

Even more delights from Tonic Studios

Tonic have brought out some more beautiful dies and punches. They are gorgeous. Here's a little peek at the new loopy lace oval die. I had great fun creating the centre piece for this oval. I coloured and aged and crackled and distressed, and the end effect is like a little scrap of vintage wallpaper.

Keep up to date with all things Tonic Studios at their facebook page and also on Blogtonic.

Playing with more Tonic goodies

I upcycled one of my favourite low cost craft products - tomato paste tubes - into these beautiful flowers  using Tonic Studio's punch and stamp punches. The lovely swirls are made some of their new dies. I used my glue gun to attach them, but in retrospect, I think that some jewellery glue might have been a better idea. It was a bit of a fiddly and rather hot business!

The frame was from Poundland...guess how much it was? Yes, I have been to Poundland before with someone who shall remain nameless who asked the store assistant how much something was!! :-)

Tonic Studios new goodies

If you're in the UK, tune into Create and Craft TV on Monday at 8am to see Tonic Studios beautiful new verso dies. This little hanging ornament was made with one of their new wreath dies. The centre was punched with a little birdy punch. For more on their new dies...check out Blog Tonic.

Busy cardmaking

I've been busy making cards this week so far. Some I can't show you yet as they are some of Tonic Studios latest new goodies. I seem to have a lot to do this week and so far not a whole lot to show for it. Oh well...we all get weeks like that sometimes I guess! :-)

It's already lunch time and I still have a long list of things to do today. Where does the time go?

Butterfly Invasion

The weather was delightfully warm yesterday and around 6pm we were sitting next to the house supping tea, when we realised there were loads of butterflies warming themselves on our house wall in the early evening sunshine. It was such a beautiful treat to watch them flit and rest like little painted decorations. They were mostly peacock butterflies.

They remind me of a dear friend who used to love to visit and see the butterflies on our buddlia. I painted her this necklace one year.

Have a berry nice weekend!

I picked all the redcurrants the other day. What an amazing crop we got from just one bush. There was a bucket load by the time I had finished. It took me ages to strip them off their little bunches using a fork. Redcurrants are amazingly gorgeous and lush to look at. Like bunches of little ruby jewels. I want a necklace made out of them!
They are now bagged and stashed in my mums freezer, in the hope that she will turn them into jelly!!

In other news,  Tonic Studios will be on Create and Craft TV on Sunday with lots of very gorgeous goodies being offered in their 30k giveaway. Here's a card I made with some of those pretties. (I made the little feathers with washi tape)
