Happy New Year

A little Scottish saying for you this Hogmany (New Year's Eve)...

{Lang may yer lum reek!}

A salutation wishing long life and prosperity.
Literally, long may your chimney smoke.

Happy New Year everyone!

  1. Happy new year to you and yours, and thank you for all your lovely comments and well wishes for me and our little boy. Lots of love xx

  2. How appropriate that blessing is for us today! We got 7" of snow last night, which hasn't happened since 1963. And the fireplace has been on all day, and probably all night.
    I love the graphic of the homes and chimneys-what a cool header that would be.
    Speaking of headers, I love your new one!!
    Do you have snow, too?
    If you win the Life:Beautiful magazine. We will figure out how to get it to you ;)
    I pray you are well!
    I love you!

  3. What a cool phrase! And may your lam reek lang too!! ;-)

    I hope you had a great new year - and that the snow is treating you well.

  4. Hi Doda, and happy new year! I love this little salutation and I love your illustration as well :)
